Topic-wise NEET UG 2025 Exam Analysis—Section by Section

Subject 4. Physics: The hardest Subject Overall

According to experts, the hardest of the three subjects tested was physics. Most of those questions were on the form of concepts that had several steps in order to even come up with a solution. Subject areas such as relativity, quantum mechanics, classical mechanics, thermodynamics, and electrodynamics were heavily represented. While the majority of questions came from the Class 11 syllabus, they included a significant amount of numerical reasoning. Time management proved to be a major hurdle in this part.

Long and Focused on Real-World Use

The chemistry section was not too hard but very time-consuming. It required a detailed grasp of organic and physical chemistry, especially from the Class 12 syllabus. Of 45 possible questions on perceived need, demand, outcomes, and purpose, 40 received a score of zero.

  • 16 questions
  • Inorganic Chemistry: 12 questions
  • Organic Chemistry: 17 questions

There was a nice balance of these statement-based, matrix-match, and assertion-reason-style questions.

Biology: Conceptual Yet Doable

Biology was time-consuming but very NCERT pattern-based. These questions were mostly higher-level conceptual as opposed to point-blank. Topics such as genetics and biotechnology were overly tested. The section tipped the scales in favor of the 11th and 12th syllabi, though Class 12 was ahead by the narrowest of margins. Most questions were lifted word for word from illustrations and forewords of the NCERT texts and required an extremely nuanced reading.

1. What happens if two candidates receive equal scores?

In case of a tie between two or more candidates in NEET UG 2025 scores, the NTA tie-breaker policy will be applied in the following sequence:

  • Higher marks in Biology (Botany & Zoology)
  • Almost all the students received high marks in chemistry.
  • Increased scores in Physics
  • Increased understanding More correct answers, fewer incorrect answers overall
  • Fewer wrong answers in Biology
  • Fewer wrong answers in Chemistry
  • More wrong responses in Physics
  • 2. Random draw + expert committee (if all other factors are equal)

This system ensures that a reasonable tie-breaking ranking occurs when multiple candidates tie using the same percentile score.
